These underground pests can make a mess of your yard with their tunnels and mounds. But here’s a little secret: Moles don’t like castor oil any better than you do, say entomologists who specialize in pest management, so applying a product containing castor oil to your lawn will have the little tunnelers buying one-way tickets out of town.
One such product is called Mole-Med, available at garden centers, hardware stores, and plant nurseries. It comes in a granular form that you can scatter or a liquid form that you can spray on your yard with a garden hose.
