If you’re constantly mislaying your tools when gardening, try these two expert tips to make it easier to keep them close at hand at all times:

  • Paint the handles of all your garden tools with Day-Glo paint and they will show up easily even if dropped amid thick foliage.
  • If you have a large garden, keep a series of waterproof, plastic dustbins in strategic places. Each should contain a set of your most frequently used tools: pruning shears, trowel, hand fork, pruning saw, shears and loppers, for example. You’ll save a great deal of time and effort by not having to walk backwards and forwards to the shed to collect tools you may have forgotten to take with you.
